At some point in the last 20 years, it seems that so many parents in this society made a dramatic turn from disciplining their kids for acting bad/stupid to defending them at all costs, even when in the latter case it's obvious the kid was in the wrong. If I had done this at 14, my dad would have personally come down, pulled me out of the wreckage, and beat my ass.

X2. There's been a diminishing respect lately for accountability. It seems in so many cases now, its all about "How can I spin this to deflect blame away from myself....especially if its to someone with deep (sueable) pockets." The more we legislate rules & regs to protect us from ourselves, the more we distance ourselves from responsibility....giving the D.A.G wonderful opportunity to flourish.

Sounds like the mother should go to jail for criminal neglect. The saddest part about that video is I don't think there was one single person, including the reporter, who knew how to speak English properly.
