[QUOTE=Ryan;462499]Thanks everyone! Note to anyone else who wants to do a build. It takes a LOT of time, and even more money

Check written , just waiting for the mid winter rules.
Anybody want to buy a 996 ?

Bring it on...but your 996 is fast enough! BTW Charles' new ex-Patrick Long Grand Am "H" car is fast down the straights! He had it at CMP

Since this is a build thread, figured I'd add a "rebuild" section to it. Was at VIR club race this weekend and half way thru the first race was following J class GT3 up the Esses. He hit the brakes in the middle of them. I had 2 choices, Continue following him with neutral throttle and hop to not collect him, of straighten the wheel, slow down, and drop 2 wheels off and hope for the best. Ended up going 4 off thru the left hander, held the car straight, thought I was going to make it, but on rentry of the track, bent front tie rod which made the car shoot to the wall pretty hard. Car is fixable. On initial inspection looks like no frame damage, and no suspension damage besides the tierod end. Just a lot of body panels and glass. Will now more on Tues when we get it up on a lift. Hopefully get it together in time for Thunderbolt race in August.

Ryan, I am SO sorry about your car. I hate it when someone ahead of me hits the brakes in the climbing esses, but unlike you I'm rarely going fast enough for much drama... Hope it can be fixed quickly--it's a wonderful car and driven well!

Brake-checked in the esses, that sucks! Sorry to hear, Ryan and hope you are correct that it is only cosmetic, even if it does appear to be extensive.
