x2 on installing new LSD. When I had my LSD installed, even my shop has to take the extra day to assemble the set of special tools.

Toby, who did the install and did you have any problems later? What brand did you go with?

You don't need one.

(best office space voice) ...Yeah...

Done more than my fair share of those. A big press helps immensely. So does a BFH, a good air chisel, and loads of patience. My car got aluminum subframe bushings. Big mistake. That involved cutting and welding...

Larry: I believe your AWD TT already has 3 diffs?

I have a Guard diff. ASG did the install. The Guard require "updating" the G96 flanges to G50 flanges , which added to the complication of the install.

It works very well. It did take me a few event to take advantage of it.

There is no LSD in the turbo unless special ordered from the factory.

I bought an OS Giken LSD from Steve Weiner at Rennsport. Price increased immediately after I bought it (very atypical for me - I usually get the first one at the higher price...). I paid $1800.

I was planning on having it installed by Charlie Murphy but it turns out Hoophead has both the special tools and knowledge about installing them.

Still waiting for OldTee (whom I know is doing nothing but eating, sleeping, and Dorkiphus) to post a couple of the transmission tear-down photos.
