Great second set of pics Dave! I love the one in particular of the old wooden hulled boats.

BTW, I know what you mean about becoming immunized to some of the cars ... happened to me at the 'Ring and Museum's as well.

those boats are awesome. Riva started making wooden "sports-car-type" of boats and ever since they've had a fanatical following, not unlike us air-cooled crowd.

The ones I shot are brand new. A remake/reissue of their old stuff. I think it was a "dealership" at that harbor location b/c it was all Riva on that entire dock. They also make fiberglass boats, but this is what made them famous.

That was a particularly nice vantage point you had there at Loews corner and then all the way around to Portier and the tunnel entrance. The sound really makes me miss the V-10's, especially reverberating through the city.

yeah, the noise simply cannot be described enough. it just sounds like buzzing on video but in person, it makes your bone marrow tingle. un-be-fekking-lievable. the difference is amazing especially since i had a chance to attend a champ car race recently and while loud, the turbos really muffle the sound. compared to f1 engines, they are quiet.

here's the opening lap:

Uhh, yea. Just sick Dave. I doubt the Moto GP at laguna seca will be nearly as good...but it'll have to do until I hear that my Italian relatives can hook me up.
