I tear my tires up on the street and have yet to have one slip. Man I miss Fair Lakes C&C.

pfft. I can see from your avatar pic that you don't use your tires at all so I would not expect to see slippage

Yess they do.

Of course it's probably not remotely related to anything to do with tires, but hairspray and gels are probably regular recommendations.

For over ten years cleaned tire beads and wheel bead seats with lacquer thinner then sprayed them with hairspray. Let it dry then dry mounted them. Minimized the slippage better than any other technique/product, but took time, effort and heavy duty rubber gloves.

Now have wheels with CNC machined bead seats. Pretty good, but can still get up to 1-4" of slippage on the left rear.

Great idea!! I'd drop my wheels off soon so your wife can take them over for me.

I've found a good cleaning to get rubber residue off the seat area and mold release off the tire bead, followed by hairspray on both surfaces, works. Mount while the hairspray is still a bit tacky. I may get an inch or 2 of slippage, but not enough to throw off the balance.

I like Aquanet for that old lady hair salon smell... Reminds me of accompanying my Mom to the hair salon when I was a toddler.
