You are correct about the glass to metal problem Kurt. I also have a few rather large tears in the rear wheel well which are strictly glass. Think I'll try to work on this Sunday and see how far we get. Between this weekend and next it will be ready for VIR if I have to pop rivit the entire car together (what a look!).

After pricing out the fenders and nose replacement I decided to try and do this repair stuff myself as I see more "repairs" in my future and this cosmetic stuff seriously impacts my "go fast" budget.

Let's see, bondo, fiberglass, adhesive, sander...what else is needed?

Eywear and a respirator. Good gloves and perhaps a trip to Boat US or West Marine . . . no one does glass work like the sailors of the world!
