Chuck, hope you can get your tranny fixed soon.
Hopefully just a recalibration. I had to leave Sunday morning anyway to get back to DC for Mac's pinewood derby...

Angry

Had a rough weekend.
Started out great at the awards dinner where the Potomac crew represented champions in multiple classes and got the best heckler award as well.

Racing as ryan said....practice and qual was filled with flags and ended in 1 lap sessions.....and ended with an oil cooler leak....luckily not bad...part ordered for delivery at lunch sat....sprint 1 had a good start and kept with my main competition Hupfer.....was off his new lap record by just under a tenth...then called the race early to not risk the oil cooler more
New part installed.....on grid for race 2...RAIN....brought the car in.
Clarke had a damn good race on slicks vs all the others on rains

Enduro.....had a decent start....almost a great one if I had l filled the nitrous bottle.
4 laps in this happens.....guy dive bombs 17 so I leave him room
https://youtu.be/W2zdR0vY2nk
Broke something In the steering so my race was over...luckily no real damage otherwise not so happy with the outcome. ....yeh I wasn't in front but man I presented myself and got along side.....

Big thanks to Intersport as always....kept the car running and I can't be unhappy with a 27 flat

Congrats to ryan omar Antonio chuck dwayne stu and clarke on good weekends.....was also nice paddockING with Alan friedman....that car sounds soo good

Oh man. Almost looks like he lost the rear and was heading for the inside of T1 but maybe that's after he clipped your right front. Sorry to hear and worse to see. Condolences, buddy.

Damn Evan, that sux. Was there any "official" outcome from the incident? I agree that you did present yourself well. But it seems that inside line becomes a bit of a gray area, where the person "on line" often wants to own it regardless. I wonder if the 944 was not expecting you to be alongside, since he had passed you in the previous corner. And as Martin said, it does sorta look like he may have lost the rear end before hitting you.

IMHO, the inside line to the apex should not be a automatic right for the car otherwise online. Racing should, and often does, allow moves to the inside. If the passing driver makes it stick, great. If they do it wrong, the car online will likely get around anyway. But just because you're online, should not mean you have a free pass directly to the apex.

Evan, I guess it sucked to be you at Sebring. Sorry about that.

Let me guess, you have the 13 because it is the responsibility of the passing car to make the pass safely.

Considering the angle he took to the apex, he likely did not see you or even considered that you would be there. Poor judgement on his part.

On the other hand, many use the PCA rule of passing car is responsible to pass safely to "block" the passing car, because if the passing car does not back out and touch, 13 goes to passer. Of course, the rule also saying "you must leave racing room" is often ignored.

Ryan: Wow

Evan: Just...wow. He really steered right into you! Regardless of the final consequences, did he at least come over and apologize?

Yep, unfortunately this is what will probably happen when you get your letter from Vickie. I too learned this the hard way a couple of years ago at SP Club race at T5 when I was able to sneak under a car that had locked up and gone wide (on the last lap while having the overall lead no less). He came back on with me beside him and I drove off to keep him from hitting me and landed in the tire wall. Luckily I didn't get a 13 and he was not given a 13 since the stewards ruled it was a "racing incident" and he didn't see me. I hope the for you my friend.
