If we're looking for efficiencies in our government, I think combining states would be a good solution. Do away with governments of small states and lump them w/ a larger neighbor. We could easily roll MD & DE into PA, RI into Mass, etc.

Go big and do a national rollup of US and Canadia. Extend those vertical lines in Canada straight down a supersize the provinces. Eh?
