Glass bead works just fine too. They are easy to flush out afterwards.
I found the right hot tank soak eats most paints off anyway. 2 hour soak at 60C to soften things up then a hour of ultra sonic to buzz it off.

Scraped off with a razor blade when paint initially set up. Finished off with some 1000 grit sandpaper.

As everyone says splitting early ATE calipers is a no-no. Though the seals are once again available.
VAg, I found a good source for just seals at Suffenhouse (or something like that) in NJ. good prices on aluminum pistons.

I have a set of spares I bought years ago but never cleaned them up or used them. I took them apart this weekend to see if if can drop them off at the machine shop for cleaning. Had to be a little strategic about taking out the Pistons. Too off one side and then took off the connecting line to get the other side apart. I used an old pad and my collection of clamps.
One thing.... The frames that hold the pads in...they are MUCH tighter than the ones on my car. They are held with 4mm Allen bolts I couldn't get out. If the shop cannot get them out, is this something I should worry about it? If the pads are tight in the frames will that cause problems? I was thinking I could try and bend them a little or file them a bit. Maybe a good cleaning would make this better.
