Yeah, WTF is up w/ using wheels 4"+ wider than the tires? Can't imagine the procedure to get the beads to seat...

It looked so great (!) I had to find out. Called "stretching the tires", it supposedly comes from drift car setup to minimize sidewall flex (yah, sure), but appears to be a cheap way to emulate very low profile tires.

Lots of air and occasionally gasoline used to seat the tires. Must be great when the bead slides off the rim in a corner. The damage to the fender lip is just icing on the cake.

Thanks for the research. I don't think those cars could go fast enough with suspensions like that to break the bead off the rim.

This guy, all he has to do is turn the steering wheel and that bead is gonna break. WTF are they thinking??

He can't turn the steering wheel anyway, because 1 degree of lean (or even a mild bump in the road) and his rim is hitting his fender!
