Fairfax County schools among the finest in the nation. Scuba is correct about the commute. Burke-Springfield-Orange Hunt-Lorton would be good starting points for buying or rental. Good luck, and welcome to the area.

When I lived in Old Town, and then Chinatown, it would take 2-3 hours to get outside the beltway on Friday afternoon. Nice to punch the ticket living within walking distance to Caps games and rooftop fireworks on The Mall (and being solicited every vice known to man on my three block wall to the metro) - but never again!

Having driven that route in the past..Fairfax county schools are one of the best in the area. Straight shot on Fairfax county Parkway....Traffic not too bad

What's your price range? We are putting our house on to the market soon and the neighbors are already used to Porsches in the driveway and street.

We're in the Laurel Ridge/Robinson school district which is one of the best.
