So, hopefully this weekend I pick up the 9FoFo from threedownandlocked. A little background on me. I'm in the process of building a car that probably wouldn't be of much interest here, but it's been my life's obsession over the last 2 years. To be honest, I never thought I'd own a 944, but a few months ago Tim offered to let me do some track sessions in DoubleMint. After Trackdaze weekends at Summit Shenandoah and VIR, it became pretty clear to me that that the greatest upgrade I could make to the car I'm building is to improve it's driver.

Huge thanks to Tim for pointing out this ad to me and mostly for offering up his car so willingly. Honestly, DoubleMint really grew on me those two weekends. I've done a lot of drag racing in the past, a little kart racing years ago but I'm still pretty green to full on road course driving. The 944 seems to be a great learning car as it's fairly predictable and forgiving.

As odd as it sounds, this 944 will almost certainly be the biggest bang for the buck improvement I make on my 67 Chevelle. Hopefully, I can talk my wife and/or daughter into trying out some form of HPDE in the FoFo as well, be it a road course or autocross.

In the other thread, folks seemed interested in the Chevelle, so here's that info as well:
A few details on the Chevelle: Schwartz Performance Chassis, drysumped Mast Motorsports Black Label LS7 (675 hp), Tremec T-56 6 speed trans, Centerforce DYAD clutch, Winters full floater rear with 3.73 posi, Wilwood 6 piston disks in front, 4 pistons in back, RideTech 3 way adjustable coilovers with remote reservoirs, all LED lighting (headlights tailights etc), 335/30/18s rear 275/35/18s front, Piper roll cage, fire suppression system. Here's a few pics:

That's not my lift, that's the lift at Piper Motorsport when he fabbed up the 3" stainless exhaust. I have a cheap 4 post lift:

Perfect -- just a stone's throw from Summit Point. Come visit the track one day next weekend (Aug 8-10) and show off your new-to-you car in the paddock. Also, we'll be at Chapman Auto Werks in Sterling on August 16 for another tech session; bring the car out and we'll show you all the things Harry didn't tell you were wrong with it
