Hi, just joined because I have been looking to find out more info about a car I just bought. I found the previous owner posted here in July, so thought this would be a good way to get in touch.

I'm in central NC, so might not see y'all for a while, unless I end up at the track in VA.

Best,
Ron

Hello, my name is Michael and I'm a track-aholic.

<Hi Michael>

It all started with my Big Wheel. The government should regulate Big Wheels as they are a gateway drug. The next thing you know you find yourself reading car mags in your room by yourself or checking online forums to get your fix until you can find yourself a real live ride. You know what i mean dorkis. But I digress.

I thought auto cross could feed my monkey but with sessions of less than a minute each the monkey wasn't mollified and huffed in my ear for more.

So I got the monkey a 997.1. The monkey liked the 997. Yes, yes, he did.

I quickly found out that it isn't a good idea to let a monkey drive a 997 on a public road. It isn't safe no matter how much the monkey likes it.

Then the siren song of the 993 caught me. Gorgeous lines, beautiful voice and visceral driving experience. I test drove a track prepped 993 and fell in love instantly. The monkey howled in approval along with the supercup exhausts so I traded the 997 for the 993.

Started tracking the 993 this year, running with PCA, BMW and FATT. Monkey is hungry ya' know.

See you at the track. Bring your own monkey and lots of some monkey food.

Oh, and here are some pics of the monkey's junk

Default New to the forum

I've recently rejoined the Porsche family, with this shiny new (to me) 996. My little BMW (in the background, and yes, I do run it with the roof rack) just wasn't cutting the mustard as a track car anymore, so my GF pushed me over the edge to find a good full-time racer. It's in "daily driver" configuration now, still bearing the PO's dog hair, but I plan on slowly making the transition to track car.

Anyway, happy to be part of the Porsche crowd again, and looking forward to next track season.

Dan

Default Hello and a little Intro

First time poster, here. Long story short, I have known this 1976 911s since I was a kid and have dreamt about owning it since I was 10. It was owned by a close family friend who then sold it to a gentleman who fully restored and owned her since 96. Since then we have moved to opposite ends of the country but our passion for cars always kept us in touch.
It comes with with every record going back to delivery coupled with a fresh 2.7 running carbs and many other upgrades.

I have heard you all are kind to locals. I look forward to asking plenty of foolish questions and appreciate your patience as I get to know her.

-Vincent

Like the color! Looks like the front valence has been replaced with a later Carrera one w/built in fog lights and a lower lip.
