I am offering them as an example.
I wasn't intending to rebuild them as jase said it shouldn't be necessary. An inspection by experienced eyes wouldn't hurt. I would like to learn the right way to repack them.

By all means bring them! Cover the ends up to keep dirt out. I found that quart size ziplock freazer bags slide right over and can then be taped on.
