Made some progress:
Removed the steering rack. ![]() Cleaned it up, all looked OK, so I replaced the rubber bellows and the tie rod ends. ![]() Then I moved to the rear section. In order to get the brake lines, I removed the transmission support. ![]() Now I got better access to clean up that area. ![]() Blasted and powder coated the support, and installed new mounts. ![]() Next was the exhaust system. Since all the bolts were beyond unbolting, it had to come out in one piece. Here it is. ![]() I managed to get all nuts off without damaging any studs. Just on one flange the complete stud cam out. ![]() ![]() Continue with cleaning under the rear fenders. ![]() ![]() More stuff to remove. It's amazing how some parts are really nice, and other look like crap. ![]() Got the heater flaps out without breaking the 6mm studs. ![]() The starter must come out as well. ![]() That thing looks like it was on the bottom of the ocean for 100 years. ![]() Well, it looks like I got carried away a bit. The scope just extended a bit. ![]() This way I can get all cleaned up much better, and more too. LOL ![]() In order to get rid of some parts, I started to assemble the front end. ![]() Getting there, struts are in. ![]() The dust shields are powder coated. ![]() Looks almost complete again. ![]() The front hubs are ready with new bearings and seals. ![]() Hubs are on. ![]() The calipers are blasted, cleaned and baked. Just need to get the new powder in, and they will be coated. ![]() To be continued. Cheers Engelbert

That seems like more than just "suspension" refresh! Looks great.

Made some progress, besides some other stuff I had to do.
Transmission is cleaned up. ![]() Engine is on the stand now, and I started to remove all the parts around to clean up. ![]() A lot of dirt back here. ![]() Interesting, the nut at the left, was missing form the engine support. I didn't realize this with the engine installed. ![]() It's amazing what can be found at the bottom in the engine support. ![]() Now I understand why there was no nut. The stud was broken, and in there just like that all the time. ![]() A pile of parts to be cleaned, repaired, or replaced. ![]() Taking of the shroud and harness. The acellerator linkage has seen better days. I will zinc plate the small parts, powder coat the plate, and get some new bushings. I got the engine cleaned up a bit. In the picture it looks like as if there are some cracks in the crank casing. ![]() I also started to clean up the engine harness. ![]() To be continued Cheers Engelbert

So much for a suspension refresh. Smile. Great work as always.

Looks like you removed the undercoating? If so what did you use. I’ve found running a torch over the rubbery mess fist helps get big chucks off quickly. The of course the final cleanup always sucks!!
