You need the big center console to disguise the tunnel where the driveshaft runs from the motor in the front to the rear wh . . . oh , wait . . .

Are you preparing to claim that you are driving the last of the true 911s?

not sure i'm liking the front bumper. seems overly busy, too many funky angles, and something weird going on with the turn signals. just doesn't seem to flow nicely to me. but in person it might work better than the pics make it out to be. x2 on the aston-ish tail lights.

interior seems chunky. and with a console like that... where's the cup holder???

Few here believe a 997 is a true 911....I can understand why, it's cheating!

Quote from Dr Mossle of Porsche:
"the next 911 was an "evolution not revolution". Important focuses included moving weight balance off the rear axle in search of an even higher dynamic standard (possibly via an extended wheelbase) and further suspension development to deliver a more comfortable ride."

here is my best MSpaint overlay of the two (all I have @ work). Tried to keep the door sizes the same & aligned (we know porsche is lazy). The windshield & front wheel look to stay aligned so maybe a decent assumption.

The 991 has less front bumper overhang. The headlights are set back further (look at where the top is in relation to the front edge of the wheel). The rear wheel definitely moved back. 'Squatier' taillights. The wheel openings look a hair larger - probably due to 19/20" wheel options??

I wonder what the dial to the right of the tach does. The silhuoette of the car illustrated better not be all that it does. I would prefer all analog dials. Save the screens for the infotainment stack.

I think the interior would look sportier in black. I think the 997 interior is a fantastic modern design with lots of cues from the pre996 cars so this interior has a tough act to follow.

I like the head and tail lights and the design is a subtle evolution. I am not sure I like how prominent the LED front blinkers/fog lights are. I see a bit of a mustache look.

"pornstar" perhaps.

My daughter says that grandfather's 997 is not a Porsche, she never ask me about what happen to the 996 but she ask me all the time where is the 964 when she does it see it in garage.

-wheels pushed out to the corners? good.
-rl is peppered with reports it'll be lighter than 997
-991? what are they gonna do when they get past 992? re-run? skip a digit?
-as far as interior, i can tolerate the center console more than 996's dash/gauges
-looks a bit high waisted from the rear
-front led's might grow on me, or look better on a black car
