80% of the reason i go to hershey is the fact that i have a day i can get overloaded on P-stuff. i love getting up early (4:30 for me too) driving up rt 15 and seeing the sun rise on the right, anticipation of what i'll see, i don't have to shave, i get to smoke ceeegars (not!)... but i've never taken stuff to sell, i've only bought (as my packed basement room can attest). i chickened out and did not drive a p-car because of the last weather forecast i saw before sleepy time time. i found some deals (to me), i got burned (at no cost), i saved money on stuff i bought at swap meet prices (discount and no shipping). i really hope swap meets don't die (as the potomac one has) but with gas prices, etc, i guess their future is shaky. next year is Apr 25th!

Thanks to Hank! He took up a few of my unwanted items and managed to get me $100. Not bad. Wierd, though, I thought a solid pair of HEs for $50 would have gone. Oh well, now to place them here and the usual places.

This was my first time up in 4 years. Really surprised by the shrinkage since 1999-2002 peaks. I met Dave and Hunt where I picked up new to me visors. Hope you sold those other RS parts but looked like alot of tire kickers until I left at noon. Besides the visors I stopped by Car Care/Larry's booth to pick up variety of products (justify the trip if I spend $100).

Really surprised on the way up I only saw Vu and that was not until Dillsburg. On the way back noticed a few latecomers heading north. The 904 and 550 spyders (replicars) were kewl. Talked with a guy from Toronto that drove his Carrera body/3.3 turbo with Electromotive/large intercooler setup. What's next the May 5 concours?

Installed the new front rotors and brake pads, bled the brakes, repacked the outer bearings, swapped old for new harnesses, touched up the cage paint some, put the repaired M&B muf back on with new gaskets and fabed mounting strap, cleaned the garage some and sorted through some 356 motor parts. Had a couple of drinks, kicked back

The Hershey Swap Meet was a lot of fun! Thank you Hank (Semper Fi!) for reserving the vendor space. I also enjoyed meeting Derek and Bob. And fun finding Jazz was sharing the space too! Weather was very cooperative. And saw a bunch of friends, including Steve, Scott, Hunt, Mark, Manny and Bull. And even ate lunch with a couple of gentlemen I met in line, who've been PCA Potomac members for more than 30 years, and have owned a lot of cool P-cars.

I managed to get rid of some seats, so now have a bit more space in the garage. And was able to come home with more than I spent. My highlight purchase was a nice CDOC deal for a digital Camber/Caster gauge kit.

Lots of cool stuff and cars on display, including a 904 and a modeler who built some very cool "distressed" cars.

Here's a few pics:

Nice car turnout for sure.

Anybody know the story on the longhood with the neato stuff displayed in the trunk (it was in the vendor area and had rally timers, rally lights and other nifty stuff in the open front trunk)?

Thats Jim Logan, R-Gruppe chapter Meister, He's From Boston, Came down for the event. He had some great stuff, Plastic 100L RS rally tank, Cibie Head light covers, which are so rare that, they actually worth more than the lights themselves. Did you notice the color of his car, coral red. I've never seen that color before, very nice.
