Rod kept askig me if I wanted to drove the 73 and I kept telling him "Why yes in fact I do want to drive it but can't replace it if I stuff it so I will have to pass". I think Rod got this one for a little (well) less than $250K but don't hold me to it . It has seen its last weekend at the track for a while as Rod is having it fully restored.

I would like one of each thank you. Add in a DD 356 SC for putting around on the street and I am done. would give any of the above and perhaps a kid for a real 550 Spyder.
I am not a fan of the newer 911s. Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with any of them but I have to say the 2007 911 and variants look good to me.

Rod shared the low-down on his stable of cars over lunch, including the RS. I won't name numbers, but he bought the RS 6 years ago for about 25% of its current value. Nice investment!

As Kurt said, the RS is being retired from track duty and will be put back to original RS Touring specs, including its factory paint color: aubergine. One of 6 painted that color. Once restored, Rod plans to drive it (a little) and take it to shows.

Rod has a new track toy to take over for the RS. The Racer Group's 911 GT3 RS Cup car #66, that had a strong showing in ALMS in 2002/2003.

True, and one of the few cars that Alain De Cadinet actually drove on VBD. Fantastic car, would love to have an 8 cyl. version.

I think you can now buy a replicar for 30K or so.

One good thing about the Porsche make. There is just about one for every sport nut driving butt.

Silver one is my fave and pure Porsche. Green one is what I am building but in blue and full track.

"Strong showing" is an understatement. The Racer's Group #66 Porsche GT3 dominated the field to capture the overall victory at the 41st Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2003.

I teched a TRG #66 for a club race at VIR. IIRC it was the one that had a "strong showing" in france. Felt kinda silly looking it over for seatbelts and Club Race stickers and then sticking a PCA Class sticker next a French tech sticker. Kevin buckler was straight up guy and the car at the time was fit to kill for.

Must be fun to be able to pick from any of the cool toys that are out there. Good for him.

Some might want to take another look. The one on the right is the new GT3 RS, not just the (becoming more common) pedestrian GT3!

And which one was turned back twice because the owner and crew couldn't be bothered with reading the rule book Then ended up a tangled mess parked in the carrel.
