New Dorki & Porsche Drovers
Hello All,
My husband and I are new members of PCAP and Dorki, having recently purchased our first Porsche. Our learning curve is steep given we're new to working on our own car and new to small fast cars. Lucky for us, the PCAP members we've hooked up with so far have been great (including one who warned me that one should always call oneself a drover here at Dorki, lest be mercilessly teased... well, ok, I just inferred the last part.) We look forward to getting more involved in the community. My husband says the 911 is "my wife's car." At first I thought it was just him being generous. Lately I've been thinking it's because he just wanted to see what was good/bad about mine so that he can later get a Turbo or something similar and call it "his." Only time will tell. We're doing PCAP autocrosses (pic is me at the April 2013 event) and a couple of DEs this year. Welcome!
If you want brownie points down the road, steer your husband away from Turbos and towards GT3s. Same/ less cost and better for track use (unless it is wet out, and then the Turbo's AWD helps a bit).
