More parts arrived yesterday, so more parts went on the car.

I used the new gaskets to finish installing the SpokeWerks LED fog lights. It's a well-though-out kit, and goes together pretty easily. And, the lights are quite bright.

I also cleaned up and painted the rocker panels, and installed them.

Definitely looks more finished.

And, I installed the inner door gaskets and the sill plates.

Fun fact.....Did you know the 914 was the first car used as a Safety Car in F1?

Yes, the first pace car, as well as the first safety/rescue car (the one that's at the back of the pack at the start of the race these days)

Also, the men-in-plaid will love the phillips head screws on the rockers and not the plastic rivets :P I usually use alum or stainless steel rivets due to price. Not sure what I'll use when I paint + install my stainless steel rockers.

The screws are what came on the car, thanks to some previous owner. I was certain they weren't correct, but figured they'd make it easier to remove the rockers if I ever needed to. Once the car is further along in its progress, I'll research the correct fasteners and see about installing those instead.

100% makes it easier to remove/clean behind them. I think 914rubber had some of the correct ones, I haven't looked into it recently though (my project has been on the back burner for over 10 years now)

Made some more progress on the 914 yesterday and today.

I finally made a panel to cover over the hole I made to fix the chiseled-out strip on the side of the center console. It's just a thin piece of sheetmetal held on with some butyl rubber.

I also installed a RetroSound radio and matching speakers. It's nice to have tunes back in the car, and this also has bluetooth and a USB input.

This morning I installed the roof lining and re-glued the velcro on the passenger-side sun visor.

Management has been complaining about the spartan interior, so today's effort was installing vinyl and carpeting.

Here's the before:

And here's after:

And now with seats back in:

I will say this is the first job I've done on any 914 that took less time than expected. I figured this would be a 2-day job, but it only took about 6 hours.

This probably seems a little silly, but I decided I really didn't like the knobs that came with the radio. So, I ordered new ones:
