Boring to watch on TV. I hope everyone in attendance had a good time.
I actually felt bad for Alonso during his radio call back to the team. Same for Button. "Jensen, we need you to retire the car", Jensen: "OK! Will do!". LOL

I actually enjoyed watching the race. I thought there was some decent mid-pack challenges going on. Including Vettel's run to 5th place finish, after starting way in the back. I was hoping Kimi might podium, but he overestimated his cold tires after the pit stop. Seems many were having some sort of brake issues that had to be managed. Interesting how much more durable the tires have become; 30+ laps on SuperSofts was impressive.
I also thought the helicopter coverage was much improved this year. Seemed like a bunch of cool over-head shots were aired. And I always enjoy seeing Botas being interviewed; he's almost like Kimi's Finnish alter-ego. I hope those that attended (including those using our seats...) had a great time. Other than Friday's downpour, the lack of Historic F1's, and no GT3 Cups, I hope the weekend went well. What were the actual support races this year?

I actually found the race quite enjoyable, for two reasons:
1) We had PRIME seating, thanks oh-so-much to Tony's tickets. Other than the action at the hairpin, most of the exciting bits and bobs happened by us. Thanks again Tony -- it was such a great weekend. 2) Watching Vettel and Massa claw their way through the pack was very enjoyable. It doesn't sound like they covered it much on TV but the ability to see lap-over-lap progress in person was great. And then, of course, the atmosphere is really remarkable. First time to Montreal GP and it was such a wonderful experience. Also, I'm moving to Canada -- everyone is so nice there. There were numerous instances where our experience would have likely been much different if the primary population were American... Also #2: I'm letting Martin pick my food from now on, everywhere we go. Unbelievable weekend.

Had a really wonderful weekend in Montreal. Last year Tony, Cindy, Tina, and I watched every single event. This year was a little more of a vacation in that we saw The Qualifying and Races for Ferrari Challenge and but only the F1600 race (a bit of the qualification in the rain). Hard to notice the Micra Cup racing even though they were passing just a dozen feet away on the straight – couldn’t hear them and therefore missed the action, if any occurred at all. Really missed the Historic GP and the Minis from last year.
Paddock walkthrough was quite great on Thursday. Ferrari Challenge cars have ginormous brakes! F1600 were a bit of a yawn though interesting to see them running R888s. Really liked seeing the alignment rigs for the F1 teams. Gives me some great ideas! Also that they work under them on such flimsy stands! Sure they’re light but they were running them, too! They look like they are floating with no support… Williams and Ferrari were a little more secretive Very nice pit setups I have to say that the paint job on the McLaren’s must have cost less than one of the baseball hats. It is hideous and amateurish free-hand airbrushing! Bleh! They are muddy looking and you cannot identify them on the track easily. What fugly car is that…. Ah, McLaren…. I’m pretty sure McLaren didn’t use all the tires they prepped. Sigh. McLaren should have stuck with the early concept paint job that looked like the sharp Force India paint job. Nice contrast for the alignment tool. Toro Rosso REALLY like their pit jacks… That a pretty tight package in there Windows 7, huh?

Somebody looked at the weather report!
I think the “Keep Clear” is a message from the crew to Maldonado… The Saubers looked very Canadian. Erickson was awesome fighting with Massa during the race but we watched his tires turn to stripes as he overdrove them trying to overtake and defend. Someone figured he might need an extra wing or two. Manor Marussia didn’t sound too healthy going around the track though not as fahrty as the McLarens. Montreal cops are special, very pretty, and chill. HotCop1 yells to a guy next to us with a beer in his hand entering the Metro, “Chug that quick and toss it over here!” Collin gets a close look at the previously pristine Wall of Champions And calls out Kimi! “Dude, Seriously?”

RIP Jules Bianchi.
![]() He was one of the few drivers we ever saw during the Pit Lane Walk, open to the public on Thursday before the actual races began. This was from Montreal 2014.

so sad to hear the news on Friday - Even thought F1 has made massive advances in safety this is a terrible reminder that the universe will always find something that hasn't been thought of.
