I think he just got the money (or part of) the money he paid for his seat back. I would not be surprised if his backers will expect to be refunded their loot.

Van-Der-Garde is just a poor imitation of the current Master, Alonso!

Max Verstappen claims 6th ahead of Felipe Massa, Romain Grosjean and Valtteri Bottas.

Should be an interesting 1st Corner with that group.

I'm beginning to see signs of talent I may have overlooked in Sebastian before...

It was exciting to see that someone else was in the front. IMHO, the Ferrari win had more to do with the car being easier on the tires than Merc rather than Ferrari having the outright pace to beat them when there is less heat.

AFA Vettle goes, this win also enforces MHO that he can drive a car that suits him fast (Ala Reikennen).

Both the MB boys were getting quite testy with their engineers. If Ferrari can continue to put real pressure on them, it appears that either Nico or Lewis could crack under the stress.

I am really getting sick of Will Buxton. He had some really snide "questions" for Christian Horner and Daniil Kvyat, but he sure is always ready to root for Hamilton. He is so biased for Hamilton that it taints every word he says.

Congrats to Vettel. It was funny to see him jeer at the MB boys and give his engineer the jerk-off hand signal before the podium session.

Interesting race to watch. Couple of new names in the points, which was cool. Especialy Verstappen! And kudos to Kimi for working his way all the way up to 4th, after enduring a full lap on a flat/gone tire.

But, call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, I think that MB may have sandbagged the race a bit, to give the "sport" a bit more entertainment value. 3 things caught my attention.
  1. When Hammy made his first pit stop, I thought I heard a radio call from Vettel exclaiming that Hamilton had briefly gotten significantly faster before slowing for pit lane.
  2. Both MB cars came in for new tires under the Safety Car caution of Lap 4. I thought that was strange, since there was no debris involded in the incident; Ericsson got stuck in the gravel, and had to be craned out. Vettel staying out is what gave him the advantage. Why didn't MB also stay out since tires were only 3-4 laps used?
  3. On the MB last pit stops, I was surprised to see them put the Prime (red) tires on Hammy's car. When they were installed on the first pit stop, he didn't seem very happy with them. I think if the Options (white) had been used on Pit Stop 4, Hammy might have had a better chance to run down Vettel.
I hope I'm wrong. But all the brouha from RedBull wanting equality, and from Ferrari (who gets paid a bonus off the top) who's revamped program needed something to show for it, is playing into my suspicions. Ferrari's definitely running better than last year, but I don't think MB is beaten yet.

And what must poor Alonso be thinking........

The announcing is getting atrocious as Matchett and Hobbs are getting on - seem bored. More talk about radio transmissions than action "after this race Vettel and Hamilton will be separated by 3 points!".......Diffey and Buxton, meh
