Yeah the interview was a mess, but I liked it! We got a glimpse of the actual personalities and the celebration. I prefer that to the sterile corporate canned answers. The Ex-F1 drivers are interesting interviewers because they are not stuffed shirts. They are wild characters that are celebrities.
My concern is about Will Buxton. What a Hamilton fan boy.

I have been slowly losing interest in f1 over the years. odd to admit that but it's true.
I think it's the rules. bring back refueling, multiple tire co's, no turbo, no cyl limit, and a simple volume rule more of this: ![]()

There needs to be some limits in place to keep all but the the top 2-3 in the hunt though. I like the idea of giving weight penalties or bonuses forcing teams to choose how to develop a car. Want kers? Great but you need to add or drop 50lbs. I also like the idea of locking aero for a year or 2 to hopefully allow development in other areas. If teams dont have to drop so much $$ on a new chassis every year maybe the lesser teams have a better chance if they can focus on suspension, engine... With that said, the basic formula of x lbs, x cc's, x fuel, fight to the finish is pretty compelling.

All the nostalgia about the past is good, but the reality is that the engine manufacturers want to use a technology in F1 that they can sell on their road cars. From what I read, MB, Renault, Honda, and even Ferrari are not willing to build a 8-16 cylinder engines that have no relevant to their road cars.
I have previously said here that F1 has been contrived over the past 5-6 years, and have been told about what great battles happened at such and such race. There are some, but occasional. I think what has had a more negative effect on F1 are the aero and Tilke designed tracks which are based on how Bernie has promoted F1 to line his own pocket. If this year is any evident, Vettle would not have been a 4-time WC without the aero developed by Newey. Also, speaking of Nostalgia, I wonder how many of us watch a 3 minute highlight of the front runners in old races on Youtube and mistakenly think that the every old race was a battle from top to bottom the whole race. I don't think that was the case. Most of the cars broke down 1/3 to 1/2 way through the race.

I'm ok w them breaking down.
I'd rather see a short battle of monster prototypes than 50 laps of tarted up camry's following each other |

I like the monster prototype idea as long as the competition stays close. No one enjoys watching cars walking away from the field.
As Nader mentioned, old-school F1 had half of the field break down at any given race. Furthermore, the respective speeds of the cars was much more disparate, even during the Cosworth DFV days when everyone ran the same engine.
