I want to publicly thank co-chairs Fred and Starla for all the hard work that went into pulling off a great weekend. They just forgot to pay off the weather gods!! It takes not only months of preparation but also involves constant decision making and solving problems during the event. Add one more to set of praises to the corner workers .

I spent my weekend running the blue sprints and working the grid with my fellow "B" listers. I can scratch running the Potomac Club race off my bucket list. Many thanks to Evan for good, close, and respectful racing all weekend. We had great battles even though we were not in the same class. Buzzkill Coleman was a real PITA for many it seems. When Evan got around me in the third sprint I made sure not to hold up Dwayne. It was just as fun watching the two of them battle. Will post some video soon.

There was one guy I was flagging with that actually spent Saturday night in a tent behind OG Racing. How he wasn't frozen to death was beyond me.

Thumbs down

This event was epic. Being the 20th anniversary of club racing just added to the aura and mystique.

As a rookie (yes, I admit it), I have 3 general goals:
1. Don't bend metal
2. Don't tick anyone off enough to come find me and put me in my place for something stupid I did out there
3. Don't come in last.

Well, for this event, I added another: to have a new track time best at Summit.

How did I do: I accomplished all 4. It was great hanging out with everyone. Thanks to Hunt to encourage me to come out when I was having a hard time getting into a "racing mindset" and Dr K. for saving me a spot when I knew my tow vehicle wouldn't be ready for a Thursday trailer drop.

Dave R broke his cherry which was neat to see as I was in that same spot in May at the Glen. Dave, you did great -- you met the 3 core goals above!! Congrats.

Also, kudos to all of the volunteers. Denise and I volunteered 3 years ago (while she was pregnant). We know personally how much time and effort it takes to pull this off. Dorkis--IT'S A LOT OF FREAKIN' WORK!!!!

I'm not a frequent dorki viewer as a I am always pressed for time, but I wanted to share my thoughts and gratitude for a great weekend. Hopefully, I'll have time to post some videos of some of the highlights... like Evan's impression of a landscaper performing lawn maintenance track-side while trying to race--a new perspective on multi-tasking... in his slow, yellow 911 which out-accelerates mine... hmmm, Charlie!!!!

In the meantime, what about all of those wristbands we had to wear????

What an amazing weekend.
MANY MANY thanks to the volunteers that made it all possible, they did a great job.

Steve was pushing me the whole weekend, when i got around him, dwyane was pushing me...some of the best times driving i have had to date.

My first time driving a 911 in the rain, and first time on hoosier wets....why i went out???

Pat did a great job on his rookie race, really drove the car well and got a podium in those conditions.... David D. did the same they both drove great. Antonio was freaking moooving too, along with Lane, and Russell...really every potomac guy did pretty good. Frank picked up his pace soooo much in the second sprint in the pooring rain it was amazing i think thats the best driving ive seen out of him and hopefully more to come.
Sounds like all the rookies discovered the most frustrating part....the starts..im known for terrible starts and its beyond frustrating....you guys did great in that rain though
Mark Francis did good for not driving the car in forever, PJ ran strong but had some bad luck and managed to keep his head up.
Hunt congrats on the Spec Boxster Championship
Scott nice driving too, cant believe you didnt collect the red car in that start

Steve that was just some great racing...i see in one vid i may have pinched you slightly in turn 3, i thought i gave you a little more room but am unsure hopefully i didnt and if so apologies. you drove your butt off and the only reason i caught and passed you was your tires i think, you could tell they got too hot and you got squirly as mine got to the perfect pressure....the enduro i did the same thing was good for first few laps then was a complete handful till my pit (way late in the race)

Gotta thank intersport and the crew (convienence as well) for the car and support..those tents were key.

My first time at poll and i hope its not the last so much easier at the start in the rain up front haha.(sorry couldnt resist)

Wish i had some more battery but i forgot to charge the camera after the first night so never had a full charge and lost some footage dagnabit.
but here is the majority of it.

Qualifying tank slapper (first time on the wets) think lightning hands or luck either or

Sprint 3

Enduro start clip...not the best for me..but somehow qualified 14th????

ill have the others up a little lata along with some more comments of course as im sure i forgot alot of congrats and all.

and got my pers best of a 124.02

Lane if you want to buy a trailer i have an aluminum trailer for sale...

Hat's off to all the volunteers that made this event possible. Even with the rain it was still a great event. Had loads of fun with the DE, but was really wishing I was racing on Friday, then the rain came...

Congrats to all rookies and their accomplishments. Saw some great racing in some really tough conditions.

Because Russell won the Steward's Rookie award on Sunday!!

Watching Scott's video, I wonder if I could have stopped before hitting the Cayman Cup had I tried it. I have no idea who was behind me or how far behind me they were (there's was heavy traffic, esp. for the 2nd lap--more like race start). NO ONE has video of it?

Great driving, Hunt!!
