Cool Shirt: Put the cooler in the trunk. Nice think about the 997 is it has a nice big rubber grommet behind the battery you can run stuff thru. Made life easy because no need to drill big holes thru the firewall (seen it done on 996s where you come in right by the pedal cluster.) Figured I put some bling on the car and bought the FC-1 coolshirt controller. It arrived, and it is huge. No place to put it, so ended up just getting a live bait well timer instead. Cool Shirt controller is up for sale soon if anyone wants one.

Replay 1080HD: This was kind of a PITA. I rate the hardwire kit a 10 out of 10 for function and 1/10 for design. The wire has 2 huge ends on it. One that screws into the back of the replay camera, and the other which is the remote control. Neither end is removable. So running the wire behind/thru the dash and around the rollbar proved challenging to find spaces to squeeze it thru. Then, the mount for the remote unit has a tolerance of about 1/16th of an inch. In other words the lip of the bezel only has 1/16" lip. If your mounting hole isn't exact, it will pop right thru! Piss poor design.

CM200 Radio: This was the most work of all. Wanted to mount in the center dash, but no DIN adapters available to make it easy. Instead Modified the bracket that came with it. Luckily the heater control had gaps behind the faceplate, so screwing the radio adapter down in the center dash worked!. The screws to the radio from the bracket come in from the side. I had to remove lower dash (PITA), glove box and a bunch of other stuff to get access. Ended up dremeling some holes in the side of the center console to be able to access the side screw locations in the radio. Trim plates cover up the holes, so no biggie. Ran the harness for the PTT button below the steering column, and ran the headset wire into the center storage tray. Nice place to keep it when not using it! Drilling a hole in the roof for the Antenna was easy, but a few flakes of metal ended up on the paint (even though I had it covered. Not realizing they were there, wiped the dust off the roof, and put a few scratches in the clear coat. Charlie runs VHF, so the antenna is a giant brick. Might get a UHF antenna instead (says it not for use with VHF, but saw them on a few Interpsort cars and they seem to work ok)

Now that all the electronics where wired, needed to mount the switches. Synergy made a great CF plate which sits in the stock NAV/Radio location. Well Synergy no longer exists. HUGE thank to Mark Francis who contacted Kerrigan from former Synergy. Kerrigan dug around and found me a used plate. A little banged up, a couple holes already in it, and clear coat yellowing, but who cares it works...and looks better than using a flat piece of Kydex. Arranged the switches to cover most the old holes, and used labeling to cover some of the yellowing. Only issue is, I had one shot to get this right, as the plate is NLA. Had an old piece of Kydex around and built a template first. Two biggest challenges where 1) the radio was already mounted, so had to slowly trim the cutout until had a nice tight fit. Also no trim bezel available for radio, so whatever gap I had was what I had to live with. Second issue was the replay remote mount. Only has 1/16" tolerance, so only had one shot to get it perfect, or I was screwed. Took a couple hours, but all worked out.

Stupid little stuff like rollbar padding, rerouting and ziptieing exposed wires, steering hook, mirror, throttle pedal, remove roof adhesive, modifying plastic panels to fit around rollbar done.

Next up this weekend: Remove front bumper, rear bumper, and wing. Test fit new pieces before sending off to paint shop. Add third radiator. Install Wheel studs. Then just need to figure out how to mod door panels(or alternative), mount fire bottle, and remount fuse panel/harness wiring. Will send the car off to Intersport for Suspension mods, Brakes, LSD, and exhaust end of this week to get the "real stuff" done!

Really nice work Ryan. One suggestion for the PTT button. Put it on the left side of the steering wheel, lets you talk during shifting. You might also find it more comfortable with the button behind the wheel.

Good point. Had it on the left side in other car, but put hook for hanging wheel on right, so moved button to right so cord would stretch less when removing wheel. Easy change, will switch it.
