Hybrid as in gas/electric or hybrid as in Corvette engine?

Sorry, I should've known better than to post without pics.

If anyone knows sandwood (Alex), that's who I bought it from. (Great guy to deal with, btw, very upfront.) It's an LS1 conversion, peformed by Mike Gokey in Florida. The LS1 is from a 2001 Camaro SS and is stock for the moment. It's well sorted mechanically, but has some work to do electrically (unrelated to the converison, just age.) It's had some weight savings done (airbag and rear seat delete) and had KW v3 coilovers installed recently. It has hydroboosted brakes, PS, and I just converted the AC to R134 and got it working. (I meaning ASG.)

One issue I'm trying to tackle soon is the wheels. It has early offset wheels on it and I'd like to find some that fit better. Right now I'm thinking Carrera IIIs, but I might try to find something in a 17" instead. (If anyone has some for sale, let me know please.)

Here are some pics I took with my cell phone last week.

And one I just took of the engine bay.

Default Hello!!

Greetings all. Just discovered this board while on the Pelicanparts forums. I had been wondering if there was a NOVA area Porsche group aside from the 914 club. I've been having a lot of fun taping my 951 to keep it running... My glove box is taped (metal latch snapped), my driver side mirror is taped(accidentally kicked it while attempting to remove a cobweb), and now my heater control rod is taped( the one by the gas pedal)

That being said.... At some point I want to get back to fixing my own stuff, and wondered how often y'all get together and wrench at each others garages? I'm in an apartment complex with nowhere really to work on stuff (used to be able to use the base mechanic bays, but I just EAS'ed from the Corps), so I just wanted to feel out who all likes to trade beer/food for garage space and an extra set of kid sized hands! I'll be looking to get my sunroof working soon, since it's spring (supposedly, it was like 30F this morning!!!) get my mirrors upgraded to 968 aero style, and get the right clip for my heater control... add to that list my glove box, brakes having a really hard race compound, exhaust, wastegate, and other crap missing bolts under the car, and I've got my work cut out...

Welcome Modian! That's one very cool 944 project! I hope to see it perform at the track or one of our autox's. I've always wondered how well the V8 conversions handled.

Welcome DSgraham! 944's........terrific fun when all is well......fun (mostly) keeping all well. I've got 3 of 'em and learning all the time.

Once you're in the sandbox, a lot fun & knowledge to be had. Just watch out for the occassional splash of sand........and sometimes a cat may sneak in and leave a surprise....

Greetings, I'm the fellow that lead the fun run yesterday from the Potomac PCA breakfast out to the Old Dominion Hounds point to point races... or "Porsche to Point" as it were. I'm a Horses and Porsches fan so anything that combines both will result in my definite attendance e.g. the Fall Gold Cup. As it is point to point season I suspect there may be a few more runs out to these races should PCAPotomaac coordinate an officially sanctioned run next time. The Calendar is here: http://www.foxhuntva.com/web/index.p...ate=2009-04-01

As for me... I started with a 1964 British Sunbeam Alpine (wishing had been a Tiger), Moved on to an Eclipse while I was a poor soldier, got into a 2002 Ford Lightning and was bit by the mod bug, same went for the 2003 Cobra shortly after, then came along sport bikes... so a 2007 GSXR 750 spent some time in my garage... Now all are gone and standing proudly in my stall is Elle', my Arctic Silver 2001 996tt

a whole new experience a world apart from my previous toys... a new beginning
