We are planning on taking the light rail in from the south. However at this time, they are only showing 4 stops on the schedule - Cromwell, BWI, Patapsco and the endof the run at Hamburg St.

I just called to see if the trains would be stopping at the other stations along the way that are not on that list. THEY DON'T KNOW! They are going into a meeting right now to figure this out.

So just a heads up to those folks that are thinking about taking light rail in...Make sure you go to a station that is ON the special GP schedule! Or else you may be seeing the trains pass you by.

The nice lady at MTA is supposed to call me back as soon as they figure it out. So if she does, I'll post an update.

I was going to use the snail rail from the North, but it is still down north of North Ave due to hurricane damage. Should be a sweet fluster cluck.

Update

Quote:
the baltimore grand prix organization has modified their original schedule as follows:
From jason schiavone, account executive, corporate partnership, baltimore grand prix:
“our priority is to keep as many guests satisfied, comfortable and happy, as possible. We'd like to keep car corral traffic to a minimum but will permit participants to enter and exit as noted in the previous email (see below), or as necessary.
We have only two access ways into the car corral paddock (lot c). One of these two access ways is turn 8 and so obviously will not be able to be used for car corral entrance/exit. The other entrance is at the southeast corner of the lot and is only two narrow lanes. Both of these lanes will be used for entrance in the morning, so it will be difficult to filter any cars out, whom might want to leave (not that any one would be leaving in the morning, anyway). Once the majority of cars are in the lot, we'll likely open one lane for cars to leave, as necessary. The same scenario will apply in the evening; both lanes will likely be used for cars to leave the lot, if there's a rush of cars wanting to leave at the same time (perhaps after the final track session friday or the final race saturday or sunday?). Once the majority of cars have exited, one lane should be re-opened for entrance, should anyone want to come back in the lot. Outside of this, i believe cars will essentially be able to come and go as necessary, though we'd like to keep traffic at a minimum. The lot will, still, close at 11pm to all traffic; no entering or exiting until the following morning”.
Original message/schedule:
Corral parking
corral parking pass holders may park their cars in the car corral paddock thursday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Then the these times will apply: Friday, saturday, sunday car corral entrance – 6 am to 8 am and noon to1
pm
friday, saturday, sunday car corral exit – 6 pm (or when track goes cold) to 11 pm
the car corral will be locked at 11 pm
cars will be permitted to remain in the paddock over night if they have the necessary credential and sticker on their car to be allowed in the paddock the following day. (these will be provided at corral)
car corral parade laps (no changes here)
car corral parade laps will be first thing saturday morning 7 am
club member interested in participating should be in the lot as early as possible, lined up and ready to roll at 7am. The car corral paddock will open at 5 am
additional event information including the porsche platz schedule, track map, car corral, traffic plan, race schedule, tickets
and changes and updated to above schedule will be posted to:
Zone2.pca.org
Or go to: Zone2.pca.org

Had to go to JHU School of Medicine today. Downtown was pretty fuched. I took a road that was not closed, but traffic from the closed ones spilled over big time.

Heading back to DC I bypassed downtown on the west side and it was okay.

Snapped some pics as I sat in stopped traffic, but mostly just vendor tents. Did not get a good look down the main straight as it was blocked by a few trucks. Looks like grandstand is right up on the action, though.

Was down there today. It's going to be a blast. Unlike other 'street' courses that use airports, this one is on the same streets that are used daily. PorschePlatz is one of several corrals. Saw BMW, Corvette, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Aston Martin. Right across from the ALMS paddock. Saw the Flying Lizards working on their cars and the drivers walking the track as well as taking golf cart tours of it.

I'm starting at Cromwell but the gaps in the schedule suck, even for their standards.

My contact is telling me NO cars have turned a wheel in anger and that there are track issues keeping them from getting on track. We may have a massive FUBAR on our hands!!

OK now there are cars on track so the show is on!!!
