That's too bad. But hey, you could still let your car participate....why should she miss out on all the fun just cause of your new job....sure someone would take her out to the dance for you....

Unless you are in Virginia, DE insurance is relatively easy to get. If, like me, you are in Virginia, it is a little tougher. In fact, the only place I was able to find it was Pacific Insurance out of Canada. The POC was

www.laurelde.com

They insure by the number of track days (in blocks of ten). Deductable is twenty percent or $5000 which ever is higher for an agreed upon value for your car. This year it cost me $486 for twenty days with my old Targa valued at $20,000 (which is more than it is probably worth).

Despite my loathing for the potentially hateful weather, I'm signed up and will be there in red unless the doc says I'm not okay to drive.

With my broken foot, at least I have a better excuse for not being fast.

Question Places to stay

Woohoo!!! I got in. This will be my first time out to Summit Point and I was wondering where everybody is staying? Any recommendations on hotels around there would be great.

Thanks,
Lane

Lane,

Shoney's in Berryville (correction: Winchester), VA is a popular place for track people, not too far and with more than adequate facilities. 540-665-1700. $54/night. Mention the PCA (or AAA/AARP) discount.

I think it's actually in Winchester. It's about 10 minutes further west out Route 7 past the turn-off for S.P. (it's just past the I-81 interchange).

Oops, you're right. It's 1347 Berryville Ave, Winchester VA. Thanks for the correction.

I agree. Ted, for some strange reason, I feel like some parts of your car WILL be there, participating.
