At the end of this month I am moving to a new house that has off street parking (other than the cut out where the driveway should be but really there is just grass). Unfortunately, not a garage.



My 911 will finally be coming to live with me, so I am looking at car covers. The thin dust cover is no longer really acceptable since the car will be parked outside; exposed to rain, snow, sun... really whatever is going to happen.



Anyone have any recommendations?

You want a waterproof breathable cover. Kimberly Clark used to make the best ones a while back.

Depending on jurisdiction, you may need to make sure that the plates are visible. No unregistered cars on the streets you know...

I got mine from https://www.rockymountainwheel.com, not the best covers out there but will certainly do what you are looking for. Mine was for indoor use but they sell heavier grade covers as well. Most are generic fit however, small, med, lrg, that's it.

Many choices; many opinions. Some like them; others don't, and there is no panacea. That said, I think Covercraft makes good custom fitted covers. I have a Noah; it is okay, but this seems to be there latest creation: http://www.carcoverworld.com/weathershield.asp.

I have a Covercraft Noah [no, not the Dorki in Israel] for my '76 and '62 and a Covercraft Weathershield for my E30 iX. We have Noahs' for three other race cars.

Weathershield is Excellent ... Noahs are very good IMO. Keeps heavy rain out of leaky Targa tops and open windows [no glass, regulators, etc...] on the race cars.

Happy with value and would purchase again. [prolly need to for the Targa]. Do NOT wash in a machine ... hence the need for a new one for the Targa .... maybe.

BTW the early 930 turbo cover [largest for 911 body] does not completely cover our '73 IROC bodied [early whale tale] car ... tight stretch b/c of flares, etc...

Covercraft also makes excellent foldable thick foam board UV protecting sun shades. Exact fit on my 911, E30 and '99 Suburban ... work very well ... too.

I have an all weather cover spesific to a 911. I don't know who made it It came with the car. It is waterproof and doesn't cause the car to fog up. If it would work for you I will trade you for one designed for sun/dust. (light outdoor duty)
It may cost you less.
It fits with the duck tail but it won't cover a whale tail.
