Great course. Fun day.

Sadly we had a boxster ruin his clutch out there.

I was fortunate when I got my first Porsche (a 914) to be told that clutches are expensive and they are a "weak" point. Seems the that tradition holds true. The amount of time gained by a burnout/slipping clutch at the beginning of a course is not worth it.

At PCA events, first and second are tenths of a second (at best) and usuall 1/2-1 second apart. Unless this was an SCCA National event the time just isn't worth the potential damage. (remeber, we don't even get little trophies )

Just a reminder to go easy on your clutch.

I think, Michael was not actually launching the car at the start, but repeatedly using it during the U turn after the start to keep the engine momentum. At the end his clutch must have been close to being dones before the event, but apparently he hadn't noticed it.

Nice writeup FTS. And congrats Dave on FTD! (maybe "congrats" means something else in another language )

I was way off on guessing the lot's dimensions when I designed the course. The lot was 1/3 narrower and over 1/3 longer, thus the really tight spots at each end and the really long back leg. Hope we get to play there some more next year.

Thanks Mick. Btw, we could not hook up at SP as I had to leave early, I was really tired, sorry about that. You were wondering about my alignment issue, I posted the results of the adventure at http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...d.php?t=290789

Cheers,
