Default new to dorkiphus

I've been a pelicanhead for a few years and heard about dorkiphus yesterday at the tech inspection. I am looking to head to the auto-x next week as an observer and want to begin tracking my SC at some point. The guys at the tech inspection put my SC on the lift and gave me a good idea for some minor things I would have to do to make it track-worthy. I would like to take my first runs at the Chesapeake event in the fall.

I also would really like to begin working on my own car, any ideas for some local 'how-to' sessions, ways to learn to fix your car on the weekends, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rick

Thanks, Rick.

I'm having trouble uploading the pics, says the file size is too large, even when I transfer the pics to 'paint' jpg file.

Any suggestions? May have to create a link to ofoto

Welcome rick!

Do a search for Microsoft Image Resizer - this works well for reducing the file size to post on the Dorki board.

Now lets see that SC!

Trying to download the resizer, in the meantime, here are two links to ofoto and snapfish, hopefully these work...pics are of my 73.5 T that I sold 2 years ago, and my current 80SC

Sweet, I tried to snag the photos and post them for ya but I'm not (nor going to be )subscribed. I love that blue color on the SC.
The resizer will work well for Ya. After you get the program installed just rt click on a pic and chose your size. Small works well for Dorki-shots and for E-mail.

couldn't resist putting the 73.5T in front of the beetle. The SC I bought from a pelican guy a year ago, drove it back to VA from Milwaukee. His pics online suggested more of a smurf blue color, but he said they weren't showing up accurately and it comes off more as a metallic light blue in the dark and almost silver-ish in the sunlight. Loved the color in person. Car is great, just had its first valve adjustment a while back and passed the PPI w/ flying colors.

Welcome. Dorki's are always wrenching somewhere, be on the look out and show up if you want to pick up on DIY projects.

Welcome Rick,

I will be at the autox this weekend also, you should sign up for the rally also. Talked with Tim today and he said he did it last year and it was a blast. Let me know if you want to hook up at my house and you can follow me the rest of the way to James Wood for the autocross. Only about 5 minutes from my house.
