The engine came out without a hitch. I disconnected everything yesterday and using Justin's engine-drop-adapter-widget-thingy the actual drop took 10 mins. Engine's on the stand ... more info to come ...

Marc, it's a bit deceptive...Greg had everything disconnected already, except for the motor & tranny mounts, the speedometer cable, and the backup light switch. Also, the car was already jacked up, the rear valence off, and the engine cleared the rear of the car without a second round of jacking it up. It was as easy for us helpers as it possibly could get. Only one jack for the drivetrain, although it took a bit of care to make sure it balanced the drivetrain properly.

It's even worse, Marc. Didn't have to jack the car up to an extreme height. Really, it was tooooo easy. I guess the law of Conservation of Good Karma ensures I'm totally screwed in a way to be revealed later ...

That's the first time I've used the engine adapter, I was impressed at how well it worked. I think if we had adjusted the leveling bolt down a touch, it would have been rock solid.

You're right Greg, it was easy.....a little too easy.....

Seriously, what's that thingy look like or is it similar to the picture Greg posted of the tool PP sells?

Doug: Paul Wilding makes the "thingy" for pelican, and other vendors. It can be purchased directly from Paul.

Worked very, albeit not as stimulating as tires and 4x4" wood blocks.
