Geneticists say human split from chimpanzees was a long process
BY FAYE FLAM
Knight Ridder Newspapers
PHILADELPHIA - As we branched off from each other on the evolutionary tree, our ancestors look to have made a messy break from those of chimpanzees. By comparing samples of chimp, gorilla and human DNA, scientists from MIT and Harvard say they see possible evidence of interspecies sex

When did they say beer goggles were invented? That's caused many a mishap.

Lucky enough it was early on when the human line still looked and acted like the chimp line. Depending on where you are and how much beer has been consumed this last was some time between 900,000 years and last weekend.

All kidding aside according to the paper it was more like two races of the same line getting back together than an upright human and Cheeta going at it. ( I bet }{ has video)

Besides anyone that has watched a 14 month old running around in his birthday suit after a bath, head hair sticking straight out, wide leg stance waddling, arms up, laughing and giggling knows there is little distance sometimes.

yes, it has become the collector's item now that sigfried and roy have toned down their shows. even in vegas you just won't be able to see that again.

i would like to think that it happened when the apes found an injured/sleeping/incapacitated (who knows what kind of plant life they ate) human- it would've been a neanderthal, right?- and had their way with her, as opposed to a human being so dense that he didn't see, or didn't care, about the 'slight' species difference and an obvious speech variation...

conversely, modern day theories claim that we acquired aids from monkeys... soooo.... since there's (generally) no mistaking between monkeys and humans today, are we looking at a really horny sailor on shore leave? a bushman? a pygmy? scary thought indeed, regardless of how badly some frat parties have ended...

....luckily there's also the "she bit me" defense for the dubious award of being the first human w/ aids. but i haven't given it much more thought than that.

Dave, what do you think of the assertion that not all hip boots are used for fly fishing?

I resent the fact that someone even claimed that "I" have evolved
