Default Remember that ship that sank with all of the cars on it?

Remember that car carrier ship that sank last year? Well apparently they are using a cable to cut the ship into pieces and then remove the pieces one at a time. If you are looking to kill an hour check out http://www.tricolorsalvage.com. I can only imagine the sound that the cable makes when slicing through the ship.

Now for the grim pictures.. I especially like the blue Cross Country that seemed to meet the fate of the cutting wire…

Hey now. :P

Cool link, Eric. I'm going over to Sweden for Euro Delivery in the summer (with a trip to Stuttgart). I hope my car makes it back OK.

I just watched the cutting video. I wonder how long that takes to cut a section!

The first cut took 48 hours and the second took 52.
A friend I sent this to said that the sound is awful. He said you could hear each individual cutting element, cut.
At least it was underwater...

The next Volvo I drive in, I'll be checking the seat first to see if it's spongy.
