My point was that Potomac puts on a lot of de's over a year with 5 of them at Summit Point/Shenandoah, and the price per track day is a bargain compared to other venues. For green and blue it's also a "little" easier to get into the away events.
Other regions willingly accept Potomac members at their events to help fill all the run groups. Check SP event site http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/SCHEDSP.HTM for different options. When you run at SP with another region just look around the paddock and you'll see several familar faces. |

Along that note, I did 2 events with the Audi club last year. I hope to do at least 1 NASA event this year. It's so different driving with other car, especially the turbo Audi's. We all know the general capabilites of a certain model Porsche, but learning how other cars perform is quite an adventure in itself.

Hmmm I'm not sure about all of this stuff, but I did like running with FOW last year . . . where else can you go and see 2 250k cars totaled in less than 5 hours.

That picture brings to mind something I heard a driver say recently. "I was doing great until turn 3 and then I just ran out of talent." Kinda says it all no matter what you're driving. 8)

I agree with the more clubs the merrier.
Here's my $0.02, not that anybody asked for it When I first started doing this (17 years ago) Connecticut Valley Region (CVR) was my home club. NHIS wasn't built yet and Bridgehampton was still alive Made many friends belonging to the different clubs and yes, watched how at the same track, from weekend to weekend, the DE was "managed" differently, and "situations" were "handled" differently. Coming to Potomac 2+/- years ago and instructing here I can cay that it is no different than any of the other regions and their similar issues they have to deal with. Try as many different clubs (especially different makes) as possible. Nothing is as fun as playing "hare and tortoise" with some monster V8 powered car that leaves you on the straight but, whom you pass in every braking zone ... lap after lap... Jase |
