Default Kudos to Steve Wong

I know several of you have had the pleasure of dealing with Steve Wong. Some of you may remember my DME went batshit a few months ago, and after a month or 2 of looking and a couple of failed deals for an 85, I replaced it with one out of an 87. It's been working ok, except it idle hunts once in a while, and of course it does not perform like one of Steve's chips. My old DME had the Wong chip, so I wrote him explaining my problem and asked him if I could get a discount on a chip for the new box if I sent him the one out of the 85 box. Just got his reply, and it turns out the discount is 100%--I just mail him the old chip with a check for shipping the new one, programmed to match the 87 box to my 85 engine. The guy is a class act!

Ironic timing.

I called Steve Wong the other day about some detonation issues I was having between 3500 and 4500 rpm under full throttle. I was barely disernable, but it was there. While I was on the phone with him, he pulled up the profile for my chip that he'd sold me a a year and a half ago. He asked me if I was still running 94 octane, which I wasn't! He said he'd remap a chip for me and put it in the mail the next day. When I asked him what I owed him for the reburn, he said just throw in a check for ten bucks for shipping and that'd be fine. I wish all businesses would take a page from the Steve Wong book of customer service. A class act indeed!

I had been thinking about doing something like that, after hearing your stories it seems like a no brainer.
