Default Shell Rotella T synthetic 5w-40?

Anyone here try this stuff? It's $14 a gallon at Walmart. I heard it has a higher zinc content which is bad for O2 sensors and plugs--but no hard data or feedback.

I would like to use Mobil 1, but all the stores stock only 30 weight.

I have a mechanic friend who has used regular rotella to save more than a few gas engines. I'm using the synth in the land rover right now as it was the only stuff I coulg get in the right weight. No problems to report.

I use regular Rotella in my Dodge truck with a Cummins diesel. As far as the regular Rotella, I believe it is formulated with special detergents for use in diesels which have a high sulfur content in the fuel. Probably not the best choice for gas powered vehicles. Not sure about the synthetic but I would bet it is the same. Recommend you read the label thoroughly for recommended uses.

I think it was covered in another thread that 20W-50 is the only weight you want in a 3.2 Carrera.

I went with FormulaShell 20w-50 for this spring. Going with FormulaShell 10w-40 for winter.
