Default PSA - bridge closure near Summit Point

TRAFFIC ALERT FOR THE SUMMER! The Opequon Creek bridge on Old Charlestown Rd west of Summit point is CLOSED and will be that way until NOV25. All season. They are replacing the low, one lane bridge that is prone to flooding with a higher one that is two lanes. If you normally come from that direction or stay at hotels at I81 and Rt 11, this will make your commute to the track much longer as you now have to go south to RT7, east to Crumms Church Rd, then back north, or another alternate route. Link to bridge location. https://maps.app.goo.gl/6gwNH5XA5RhZ3X6v7

Thanks for the PSA. I don't normally take that route, but was GARMINED that way when Rt340 was closed along the river about 2 years ago. I was going to Club Race, and had my Toter & Stacker. That bridge was a challenge for me to cross.

That classic bridge! Back in the good ol days, when nobody really cared about 356's, I took mine across that bridge and it was flooded so deep, water was coming into the car through the bottom of the doors.

I thought you were going to say "through the holes in the belly pan".

Those were in good shape, but that would have been a quick flood out!
