Default Anyone into tactical flashlights?

There's a pretty good thread on Pelican about this, which prompted me to finally (after much deliberation) pick up my first Surefire last night, a cheapie G2. Gawd, that thing is awesome!!!! Now I want a C3 Centurion. When I get that one, the G2 will be converted to a tac light for the AR-15 I will soon start building.

Last one I had was a Surefire. I don't recall which model it was but it wroked when I wnated it to. I just can't justify the prices they are asking for these things these days.

I ordered one of these. Not quite surefire, but good quality and it (hopefully) it'll do what I want it to do - allow me to see tree branches while running at night.

Why would you have to register a short barrel? VA has no registration. Only the lower receiver has a serial # and is considered a gun. And there's no way to legally build a class III weapon. Registering that would get you a stay in the pokey.

By 'short barrel' do you mean carbine? Rick's correct WRT to Class III and auto. That's a long time in the Federal system.

I saw a little old lady bring a sawed off shotgun into a gun shop once (part of an estate) and wanted to get rid of it. The counter guys asked her to immediately put it back in the trunk of her car and come back. She returned and was explained the cause for concern and given the address of the closest PD substation.

Some guys on SIGforum have been building their own AR's for well below what it costs off the shelf. A lot of these guys have tac lites that cost about half of the rest of the gun.
