You do know NJ is on the way to Sebring 😂
Good luck at the race, Mark.

To give an update, with the trip to NC, the progress has been slow with a couple of unexpected twist.
I assembled the rear struts with Tarett monoballs based on the assembly video from Ohlin, but something did not seem right. I called Tarett and Ohlin, and learned that Ohlin momoball which is also sold by Tarett has a different design to eliminate using the rubber top mount. To use the Tarett monoball, I had to modify the rubber top mounts that Ohlin includes with the struts.
Anyway, I trimmed the rubber top mounts to make them fit this morning and assembled the front (with new Porsche top munts and rear struts. I also bought a tie rod removal tool to remove the tie rod. Mark wasn't kidding about stand back.
I hope to drop the first strut tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
The quick Jack has made the job easier than if I had to do it with jack stands, but I wished I had a lift to not have to crawl around on the cold garage floor.
Time for ibuprofen.

Good work, always fun mixing and matching aftermarket parts. If it doesnt look or go together right stop and figure out why.

Last one I did was all about broken fasteners, at least 2 or 3 10mm bolts were seized. Dont rush.

This is all you need. Cheap and works great.

Make sure to loosen the nut so it is off the nylon part but still have enough threads to keep the bolt part from flying out once it separates. I actually remove the nylok nut before and replace with a non-locking nut so it comes off easily once popped. If it gets real tight you can apply a little heat and give it a whack with a hammer. Will pop right out.

That is what I ended up with after I failed at local part stores. I am surprised that I actually did it correctly the first time.
It is slow going, but I have decided to order wheel studs while I'm in there.

Does anyone know the torque specs for half shaft bolts on Cayman S? I vaguely remember something like 15 or 30 ft/lb, but that may have been for the nut behind the wheel.

The title says "987.1 Project" but I don't see such a car in your signature yet...

Good job on the ball joint. The linked video from the HF site listing is pretty good.

The rear of the car is mostly done. Need to tighten the brake caliper nuts, put in the new pads, and put on the wheel studs which arrived today.
I have moved to the front of the car. I removed both struts. Removing the ball joints and loosening the lower control arm avoided the need for a spring compressor.
I hung one of the new struts just to see the fit. The top mount nuts are not fully tight. The shaft is making contact with the body. I looked at the GT3, and it looks like that the body work around the whole where the stock struts fit has been trimmed to get the Motion Control to fit.
I think I have to trim the area that I have marked. I will be consulting a professional who may have installed one or two of these before.

Well, just as I was thinking that I can take advantage of a nice day on Sunday to put the car down and check things over, the Quickjack gremlins struck.
I could not reconnect the hoses together.
After several calls to QJ tech support, I ended up unscrewing the end to let some of the fluid out to relieve some pressure.
Hopefully I will upload a picture of the car on the ground next, but I have to clear the snow first.
