Default Want to Borrow: 4 wheels - any rubber

Hey, I'm looking to get my wheels refinished. Since I don't have a spare set or a garage, I must appeal to the forum. Does anyone have a set of wheels (with tires) that I could borrow for a couple of weeks? It doesn't matter what kind - fuchs, phone dials, cookie cutters, whatever or the condition of the tires. Since I don't have a garage, I might need some help installing them - but if you're short on time, I can take them to the gas station for a swap out.

Thanks!
Steve

Steve,

Don't you have like 3 sufficiently well running vehicles? Just take the wheels off one as temporary transplants.....

BTW: If you can wait till early-mid Feb, I'll have some spare Fuchs with decent rubber, or some Track wheels with dry weather tread.

You're welcome to borrow a set of my race wheels. They are 18" with slicks mounted. I have a set of center locks that were drilled for 5 lugs that might work. I'll be around the house beween now and Sunday if you want to stop by some time to mount them.

Wow, the outpouring of offered help has been fantastic. Actually, I guess I was a little premature in posting since I don't plan this for a few weeks at the soonest.

Oh, and how is it that any money I want to spend on the car "can wait" but anything my wife wants, is more pressing?

Now that I have tested the waters, I will try and firm up some detail in the near future.

After that, I'll need a a spare Targa top (or garage) while I send mine up to NJ for refinishing.

Thanks, and have a Merry Christmas!
Steve

Steve,

I'm interested to see the Targa top when it comes back. I'm thinking of doing the same, but don't know which level of restoration I would need.

Of course. I'll gladly show it off.
