Has anyone had this problem and if so, what did ya do about it?

Yikes
Ask around at the Board Meeting on Saturday. I'll ask at the Tech Session.

Ugh. That's terrible news, and I'm sorry to hear it.
What are you seeing as symptoms of the failure?

Thanks, Chris.
Car would not shift out of 4th gear on track. Back in the paddock, dash read "Transmission emergency run". Piwis said "Shift rod 1 displacement sensors (Signal implausible)". And no gear would engage. Anyone got a spare transmission?

I'm sure you googled.. and while I am not sure of the exact error code #s thrown, but I saw this - Sounds like a Sensor issue. I am guessing that cars with sustained track use might get a little hot and "cook" a sensor?

If it's the shift rod position sensor, there are now a couple of aftermarket companies that sell replacement sensors (Porsche doesn't). So, you can have a new sensor installed for a lot less than a new trans -- just need to find a shop that can do the job. Or, if you wanted to do it yourself, it would make a great DV article.
Here's one: https://t-design9.com/porsche_PDK_di...on_sensor.html I've read a couple of cases on RL where the T-Design sensor fixed the trans. And they have more info on that page. Good luck!

Just read the entire Rennlist thread. And I don't even have a PDK car anymore, but it's a great thread.

Thanks, all. Going to give the T-Design Sensor a whirl. Pray for me.
