Default Stuff you are doing because you are bored/have the time

Today was so slow I started to murder out my wife's E91 Estate. She kindly walked over, asked why I was painting her grill, and proceeded to ask me to stop. By May ill be building the grandstands of my new grass tennis court.

Digging a pond. Digging is perhaps not the right word. I live on the side of a talus covered mountain. Everything is ether uphill or downhill with the common element being a dirt skimmed layer of rocks. Moving rocks, large, small, giant and in between in order to create a depression might be a better description. The joke “Oh look, a rock” got old on about day 3. We do have some fun. Drilling and blasting some of the bigger ones into manageable sizes and blast flaking intrusive ones. Fire in the hole!

Cleaned out my clothes closet. Realized that 70% of what I own Says PCA racing on it in some form or fashion. VIR club race seems to really like the shirt they gave out as I have 6 of them in various colors. WG CR is really partial to their jackets however you'd think they'd change the style after 5 years.

No "have time" here. Work is busier than ever, plus the decrease efficiency of having everyone work from home means most tasks take longer/ require more attention.

7-year-old starts online schooling tomorrow, which takes away another big contributor to the inefficiency of working from home.

If any junior engineers (civil and/ or structural) or architects need work, we may have a spot or two, even if it is a contract thing for just a couple months..

Work is just as busy as ever, but took last week off just for a break and puttered around the house.
For the first time in a year, I actually got the track car off the trailer on which it's stored. Spent a few days fixing some things, and identifying more broken things to contemplate over the next year when I pull it off the trailer again.

My wife and I go for drives locally and looking at neighborhoods -- pollen is getting to us so we don't get out of the car of open the windows. Have driven by Jerome's house 3 times but never seen the 944 off the trailer - photos or it didn't happen!

Pulled the roll bar, harness and LWB out of the 997.2 because it doesn’t look we are going to the track anytime soon and it gave me something to do. The car is completely back to stock.

Finished landscaping the front yard. Opened the pool early and killed all of the algae that accumulated over the winter. Landscaping the back yard next week.

Oh yes that work thing is completely out of control, busy as ever and totally inefficient working from home.

10,000 steps a day walking aimlessly around the neighborhood.

Next up I think we will detail all of the cars, just for kicks.

Both P-Cars washed and waxed. Both Toyota’s washed and the Behemoth (Tundra) got the spray-on ceramic coating. I like how fast and easy that stuff is applied! Ti got a new rear roundel and my father’s M3 got a new front one.

Now I’m down to the real project: sketching the new garage! I’m drawing up ideas on my iPad. We want to have a Colorado ski lodge exterior look with some timber frame style. Also want a large window and deck facing south to overlook the adjacent horse farm. Of course room for lift. Standing seam metal shed roof extending over bay doors. Today I’m contemplating clearstory windows along west elevation for natural afternoon light. I have a good buddy who is an architect with a Chief account so he can generate proper drawing and evolve the design from my sketches. We have worked on our master suite and basement renovation and it has worked nicely.

Can you orient things so the rake edge is along the side with the overhead door, instead of the gutter edge? Then you don't need to worry about sliding snow coming down in front of the door, or water cascading over the gutter and splashing against the door/ coming in under the door.
