Default Day 19 update

Day 19 update. They started painting, primer on the walls and first coat on the ceiling. And yes, they did put heavy paper down on the floor.

Cabinets are supposed to be delivered Monday morning, and appliances in the afternoon. Progress is happening!

Day 22 update:

Big progress today. They painted the walls. And, both cabinets and appliances were delivered today. The plan is to hang the cabinets tomorrow and get the countertops ordered.

The pics include two of the now-crowded room, one of the appliances stacked in the corner and one of the sink cabinet -- what do you think of the color & style?

I'm digging those cabinets with that flooring then adding color via the walls! Looking forward to completed pics. (And cookies from the new oven...)

We went with a very similar style, but with a light finish (maple veneer w/ transparent stain).

Looks great!

Day 23 update:

More progress, cabinets have started to be installed. They didn't get quite as far as I expected (hoped) today, but they got far enough for the countertop guys to come and take measurements. Not quite sure when the countertops will arrive, but it's starting to look like they'll finish some time next week.

Pic 1 is where the sink, dishwasher and fridge will go. Pic 2 is where the stove and venting microwave will go. Pic 3 is the island assembled but not yet in its final location.

Getting everything laid out right and properly shimming the base cabinets on the tile floor takes a bit of time. It's not a bad time for them to work slower.

A suggestion.......have the island lean to one end slightly, and then put the trash can there. That way stuff can slide, roll or drain right into the can.
