Found some good pictures of what my car would look like if I went back to the stock color. I dig it. But I like the yellow too. Opinions?

Totally subjective opinion - if I was going to paint an old 911 a different color, I'd go black.

I need to decide on a look first. The impact bumpers are actually growing on me, which is kind of shocking me. I知 actually debating just removing the strakes and holes, fixing the rust at the hood corners, and touching up areas versus backdate RSR/IROC/custom whatever. Would still like to drop weight though.

I知 also going to need a rebuild this winter (5 cylinders with 10% leak, 1 with 20%). Leak seems to be from the rings. Problem is Mahle no longer makes the pistons for the 3.1, so if I need new ones then I知 hosed. So do I tear it down, check pistons and cylinders and rebuild if okay, make a 3.2ss if not, or just go straight to dropping a 3.6 in? Anyone local have a 3.2ss?

I like that original color.. Also like any of the Jelly bean colors -Continental Orange, Viper green, there was a nice Iroc blue as well.

My SC used to have CIS injected 3.2ss. Great torque pull but a little weak on top (above 5500rpm). Dynod at 192rwhp on a Dynopack. You might consider gearing and final drive changes to wake the car up as well. The later the car, the more fuel economy came into play.

While certainly heavy, keep the impact bumpers, especially if driving on the street. The other reason they are growing on you is 1) age and 2) everyone else goes to the longhood look.

I知 a bit surprised yours only dynoed at 192. I thought they were good for low 200s at least. Did you have cams done?

I used a smoke machine on the engine yesterday, and as I expected, found several leaks. Some from the exhaust I put on, which I thought I may not have tightened right. One from the electrical plug on the idle control valve? And one from a vacuum line behind the throttle body that was attempted to be capped with a bolt.

I知 waiting on some parts now to address those and I hope it finally fixes the misfire/stumbling at partial throttle I intermittently get. Should be here in time to get it back together and make it to the C&C this weekend.
