The 888R was (somewhat) intended to be my Trailering-road-maybe raining tire.

The R7 on the wee-trailer are for dry stuff.

Would your recommend the H20 for Trailering and the to/from to tracks? Or only for wet conditions?

At least on the track, the H20 wears very quickly in dry conditions. It's an awesome tire on the track in very wet conditions but I wouldn't recommend towing to the track with it even though people tow with RA1s and have very little wear.

Check the hoho site. Their "dot" are not recommended for street use.

The Hoosier H20 wants a wet/wet track not even a drying track or they will wear very quickly.

I've read somewhere that Toyo R888 and Nitto NT01 have the same compound. Some people say that aside from the price difference, both tires have the same compound on a different carcass.

You're thinking of the NT01 and the RA-1, which was the predecessor to the R888. R888 and the NT01 are different compounds.
