Crap!

Of course, I was at Summit Point racing, so it isn't like I wasn't having fun...

In Towson, MD, last Thursday. Love the front of the new Miata but the hardtop fell a little short and clung to some dated lines on the rear. Looks a bit plumpish and a little too Pontiac Soltice. I would have preferred a little sharper lines to match the front and a little more Corvette/Ferrari would have done the front justice.

That's actually the new RF (Retractable Fastback) and not a hard top. It's basically a powered targa top that's similar in idea to the 991 Targa.

Its retractable? Boo. But I'm not a convertible guy. Would've been interesting to see what would happen if they made it a hatchback z3 coupe style.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed by it, too. Either go full convertible or proper targa... this looks like it's the worst of both worlds.

That said, a Miata coupe is something that would really get my attention.

I have both a Targa and a full convertible. Untill I got the Miata I didn't realize how different a full vert really is. Both fun, just different.
