Need '78-'83 911SC Heater Blower Motor
Hi, Does anyone have a working Engine Compartment Heater Blower Motor (ductwork and fan blades not required) for a 911SC. Please send me an email with your asking price and (if possible) a JPEG picture of the motor. My email address is: r.tuey@us.army.mil

Rick,

I made one of those and they work pretty good. Save your old motor, I've been stocking up on these and have also made good motors out of the pieces.
It usually depends on if it's the bearing or the windings. I've found a way to swop bearings. Let me know if you have any problems. Somewhere I have some extra granger bushings. I think they came in packs of 4.

Thanks Bill I was gonna post an offer to buy the old motor. I just re-built mine, I cracked a brush, so I got some brushes from a donor motor at work. Have Dremil will travel!
I'm thinking the Granger fix will be in my future if (when) the need arises. I am surprised at the amount of folks who loose heat in the car when that motor quits. Before I fixed mine it would still run you out with the use of the front 2 fans. It just didn't warm as fast, but still faster than the BMW or Mercedes.

Earlier cars don't have the cabin fans.
We need to stick together on the heater fans. It's one of those things that don't seem to last. I think because of all the heat their subjected to.

Ok stupid question. What did the early cars use to blow air on to the windshield? and what is an early car/It's before 78 right? Just when you think you figure something out...............

Rick,
The early cars used the engine fan to blow air into the cabin. Do a search on 'backdating heat' or 'heater backdate' and you'll find a ton of info.
