Mikes LCA ball joints: 1, Dave O's HF bench vice: 0. Will be shopping for a new vice this week.

Special thanks to Tom who helped me press out the bearings this morning on a 5 ton press. Need to order new ones then get them pressed in. That vice never had a chance.

I might have you covered if you want a well made, not mush metal, Wilton USA made mechanics vice. I have one brand new one and 2 (sort of well) used ones. Sadly the Wilton mechanics vice of this model is no longer made in the USA.

My pleasure. A bench vice will work fine pressing in fresh bearing especially after cleaning the corrosion from the bore. Good luck on the rest of the projects. Piece of cake from here.

Took a look at HF's web site, doesn't look like they even carry the exact model Dave has. Warranty on all of them is 90 days .

+1 for Vicegrip's vices. I bought one a couple of years ago, and it's been great. If I had a need for a second one, I'd buy another without hesitation.
