Default SOLD: 1985 Euro Carrera Track Car - $19K OBO

*****SOLD***** to another Dorki.

Time to move on from this car as it has sat for the last few seasons and I don't see a near-term change that will get me out to the track. Please feel free to contact me for additional details that are not in this post. If interested, contact me via PM; I check Dorkiphus at least once a day and most days more than that.

The Good:

Car comes with two engines: US spec (running) installed, original Euro (needs rebuild) is included
Custom Piper Roll Bar
22mm front, 30mm rear torsion bars
Monoballs front and rear
Elephant racing bushings front and rear
Setrab front mounted oil cooler with Aeroquip fittings
Rennshift shifter
Stomski precision shift coupler
915-72 transmission with oil cooler
993 headers with custom exhaust
Sparco Evo 2 Racing Seats
Schroth 5-point harnesses (note, expired but can be re-webbed)
Rennline 3-point strut brace
Rennline drilled aluminum racing pedals
Wevo transmission and motor mounts
Choice of 15" or 16" inch Fuchs (both 7" front, 8" rear)

The Bad:

Car is, ahem, cosmetically challenged
Dents on left side and rear from contact with tire wall
Plastic dash cover
Did I mention cosmetically challenged?
Transmission may need rebuild soon
Carfax record shows mileage issue because speedo with odometer replaced

The impact with the tire wall was relatively low speed; I do not believe there is any issue with frame but feel free to have an expert validate. I drove the car subsequently on track with no issue. As for the cosmetic issues, personally, I put a much higher emphasis on mechanical soundness and on-track performance and operability and decided to put my car budget towards those things and not worry about cosmetics.

To get the car back on track, I would suggest the new owner:

Get corner balance and alignment
Change fluids (engine oil, transmission oil, brake fluid)
Have harnesses re-webbed (cheaper than buying new)

I will include any OEM parts that a) I pulled off of the car and b) I still possess. This includes things like rocker panels, headers, muffler, shifter, tail, etc. I do not have the original seats (front or rear), steering wheel, and other miscellaneous parts. In my opinion, this car is not a good candidate for restoring to its original state, but the new owner can do with it what he/she pleases.

Car has been serviced for years by Taylor Chapman but don't consider that information an endorsement of its soundness by him.

Here are pics from this past summer (car hasn't changed):

Nice score, Rob! That car was Michael's baby for a lot of years. Despite converting it to primaily a DE car in it's last couple of years Michael put a lot of love into that car. It should help plug the holes in your 911 family, since from your signature it seems you have been lacking 1980s cars.
